Dr. Sean Salazar Partners with Dino Rossi to Take Back America

Mountlake Terrace, WA— June 4, 2010—After twenty months of campaigning and sharing his conservative and Constitution-based beliefs across the state of Washington, Dr. Sean Salazar has chosen to step into the Rossi camp and bow out of the U.S. Senate race against Patty Murray.

When asked about his reason to support Rossi, Salazar stated, “I am not the only candidate who is ready to shake things up back in Washington D.C. and I consider Dino Rossi to be a friend and the most capable U.S. Senate candidate who will work very hard to help steer this country in the right direction.” Salazar added, “After my leadership team and I spent several hours with Dino, there is absolutely no question, he is right for the job. Dino confirmed that, without a doubt, he is constitutionally-based and fully believes in what our Founding Fathers envisioned for America.” It also became crystal clear that, while Rossi is often labeled as the “establishment,” it is simply not accurate. Salazar confirmed, “Like me, Dino is absolutely fearless, willing to stand strong on what is right, and does not play political games for a vote.” The meeting proved to Salazar and his leadership team that Dino Rossi has the courage to do what is right for Washington State.

Salazar chose the needs of Washington State and America over his own personal interest. Salazar concluded that diluting the playing field with several candidates would not ensure the strongest candidate makes it across the finish line. With the help of Salazar and his hundreds of volunteers statewide, the foundation for Rossi to win will be in place.

Salazar believes that the battle must be won together, not separately, in order to save our country from the brink of economic disaster. “Not only does Dino get my full support in words, but I am actively working with all my volunteers to ensure Dino wins this critically important position.” Salazar added. “Dino and I are similar in many ways. We both come from very humble beginnings in the low-income housing projects of Seattle, and we both climbed out of difficult circumstances; I continued on to become a doctor and he is a successful businessman. Together our teams are an unstoppable force.”

As a U.S. Navy Veteran, Salazar understands strategic planning, and the individual sacrifice it sometimes takes to win. “I invite all our veterans to vote for Dino Rossi; he is our best hope for bringing real security to our country and Dino has our back when it comes to standing up for active duty personnel and our beloved veterans.”
Sharing the news and gaining the buy-off of his volunteers was difficult. On a recent conference call to his team, he shared, “There is no need for any of us to quit or feel sad. We are simply setting our sights on the candidate who we can help bring in the win, and with our two teams working together, Dino is better poised to give Patty Murray the boot.” Salazar continued, “Her shoes don’t fit Washington, and Dino is perfectly suited to take over the people’s seat.”

When asked about future political plans, Salazar said, “There is plenty of time to consider future races. For now, the focus must be on the big prize: Taking our country back to what our Founding Fathers intended: Less government control, cutting taxes and waste, getting our country back on its feet with more jobs, and upholding the Constitution.”

For the people of Washington State
Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 6:09pm |
I congratulate Scott Brown for his victory by becoming the first Republican in almost four decades elected to the U.S. Senate from the state of Massachusetts. This phenomenon has to be a revelation to the current administration that they must listen to citizens and allow them to participate in the political process. This victory is proof that everyday citizens can make a difference when they get behind a principled candidate. I strongly believe that Brown's success is both a resolution for a better health care bill and about "we the people" telling the government to listen to the people. The people are tired of closed-door negotiations, use of federal taxes to buy Senate votes, and policies that violate the Constitution.

My pledge to you is that I will not play politics with America, and I will work diligently to throw out all aspects of our government's tax-and-spend agenda, including every wasteful department and bureaucracy in the government. We all need to work together to get rid of those politicians who are destroying and transforming our nation, those who have wrecked our nation's economy and put millions out of work, and those politicians who violate our Constitution, regardless of their Republican or Democratic affiliations. If they are not following our Constitution, they need to be replaced with those who will. I will not negotiate with them or ever compromise my ethics, values, and my sworn duty to preserve and protect the U.S. Constitution.

For the past 15 months, I have been reaching out to all groups, the inner cities, and rural populations in Washington State. If we want to defeat Patty Murray, we must build strong lasting relationships in King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties, and reach out to conservative Democrats, Independents, and those who are culturally conservative i.e.Hispanics, Blacks, Asians, and other minority groups, so that the rest of the state's conservative votes can count.

I grew up in the inner city projects of Seattle; therefore, I understand our communities and how to spread our message. There are at least four issues conservative Democrats, Independents, and Republicans can all agree on:(1) we need jobs here and now, (2) we need to protect and uphold our Constitution, (3) we need to reduce government spending, and (4) Washington's policies affect all of us regardless of race, color, creed, gender, or economic status.

The bottom line is that I am not a politician, and I will have a different approach that will defeat Patty Murray's millions of dollars and a well-entrenched network of old line politicians. We cannot continue to lose our cities and towns, our families and our freedom because of government policies and ill-advised costly government programs. We need to spread the conservative message to everyone, and I am committed to help spread the message and pledge to listen to the voters whether they are conservatives, independents, liberals, or rich or poor. The people of Washington state and America must have a real voice in Congress.

As Republicans, we cannot be hopeful that we will win this state by just believing in the opposite of Patty Murray. We will have to work extremely hard to return this seat to the people of Washington State.

Please take some time to help my campaign obtain the resources and volunteers we will need to spread the conservative message to those who need it the most.

Thank you for your continued support.

10th AMENDMENT
Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 12:20am |
For the record, I am a big tenth amendment supporter. For many years we have allowed our politicians to bend the U.S. Constitution to a point which it is often unrecognizable. If that is not bad enough, our citizens are sometimes unaware of this fact because constitutional principles are often treated as a simple footnote in our Federally-regulated public schools. When it comes to the tenth amendment, the founding fathers had a strong belief about the State's ability to make regional decisions on their own and not to be subjected by powers from a distant capital. This is a concept that I completely agree with.

Just a casual review of the violations of the tenth amendment shows that the founding fathers were more than correct in their decision. Allow me to start with the Environmental Protection Agency. During my campaign, I have highlighted the fact that the EPA has evolved into a legislative branch of the United Nations. It is no longer the simple agency that focused on cleaning up our lakes, air, and war-time toxic dumps. This has evolved into this massive power that can sweep in and take your property if a wild rare patch of grass is discovered and deemed endangered. This is no joke. The EPA teaming up with the endangered species act shut down the San Joaquin valley in California due to a small two-inch fish that was deemed endangered. Thousands of people were immediately unemployed and hundreds of square miles of crops died. The People were powerless in this decision, and it was a clear violation of the tenth amendment. Another example of a violation of the tenth amendment is the Department of Education. I believe the Department of Education is a 100% failure. Every since it opened its doors, education standards have dropped to a despicable level when compared to the decades before its founding. Education should be a local state issue, not a federal issue. To make a long story short, the Federal government has no business as per the tenth amendment to be involved in delegating education, energy, environmental issues, and a host of others, to the individual states.

My pledge to the people of Washington and to this country is that I will review every single Federal regulation, department, plan, or whatever they call it, and if it is not deemed constitutionally sound, I will do whatever I can to eliminate it. Thank you.
